Secrets to a good Easter treasure hunt
57treasure hunting for fun!
Okay, I am 46 years old and nothing gets me quite as excited quite as fast as hearing of a treasure hunt! I'm not talking about your run of the mill shipwreck real gold treasure hunt, but the kind you plan for kids, or adults for fun!
The first clue to planning this, START BACKWARDS! I know it sounds crazy, but grab a pen and paper, and get ready to start planning your hiding spots. When my two kids were in still in school, sadly they are grown up now, but boo hoo later, anyway the parents planned the parties at school.
For instance one of my favorite ones is to look behind your face, in our rural school there were two medicine cabinets with mirrors, wallah, their next note was hidden in there. One in the slide, one next to a fencepost. Be creative, especially if you are at home.
You must have everyone promise though not to divulge the secrets they find along the way, No telling each other if they saw someone else's note.
Use different colored pieces of construction paper for each person's note, or a string, something to differentiate them. And it is a game everyone can do togethe, make them age appropriate, for instance for a child too young to read, draw a picture of where their next one is.
For treats you can use bags of candy, anything you want for a prize. This can be done for one person on up depending on how ambitious you are. But be sure to write yourself notes,,,, in case something gets moved, the wind blows, the dog grabs it,,,, this will ensure things move along and no one gets frustrated!
After all you don't want that prize to end up like my forgotten Easter egg.... of course eventually the smell gives them away! LOL Have Fun!
