Freelance Writing Sites!

Freelance Writing
I have written most of my life. Short stories, long stories, boring stories and good stories! My daughter writes beautiful poetry but I have no skills in that area.
What i would like to share with you is how to market your skills to be able to write from home! Crazy isn't it? I am working on my own writing site with links to several of the sites I have done freelance through, but it isn't finished yet, but feel free to take a look.
To begin, determine what your writing skills are. Join a variety of sites, just type freelance writing into a search engine and see what all comes up. There are many! Some are free to join, and will only be paid after you receive work. Some carry an upfront monthly fee and some require both! Most allow only a set number of jobs to be applied for. Obviously if you are reading this you are already familiar with hubpages, and it is just one of many, but an excellent one!
I have been mostly writing articles, search engine articles, how to articles, doing some ghost writing and also doing a few web pages. Most of these are also covered by non disclosure or some other agreement. That is fine so long as they pay! Beware the people who ask you to contact them outside of the format you applied for the job through, many of them will not pay and there is no chance of recovery. Go the honest way with it and give them their due, after all it is how you found the job!
Put together a portfolio of your work, hubpages work, as well as some of the previous articles or stories etc you may have already sold. Most buyers want to see a copy of your work. You will need to be versatile, they are the paying customer, provide them with what they want.
Don't be offended, refer to the above, let your creativity flow on your own time, and provide quailtiy work for whatever it is they wish and you have applied and accepted! For some ideas you can visit my beginning site, although not even all the links are set yet! It can be found at http://sites.google.com/site/theworldsbestwritingsite/ and later will be available at the name plus a dot com, however I am putting it all together here first!
Also don't feel down, you might apply for 30 jobs and be accepted for one five dollar one! Just chin up and keep applying. I for instance generally spend a minimum of an hour a day applying for jobs, hoping to get one! We all want the big break, but chances are we will earn it based upon our reputation for timely and satisfactory work!
So get out there and start looking, applying, writing and earning money freelancing! And Good LUCK!!!
